Salzgitter

Film to thank the volunteers

The Salzgitter professional fire department has produced a film on the topic of "Volunteer help during the Covid-19 pandemic" with the city of Salzgitter's Medienzentrum.

The film is a token of gratitude and appreciation to the many helpers from Salzgitter and the surrounding area who have supported the fire and rescue service in a variety of ways since the start of the Covid-19 pandemic. 110 citizens, including members of the professional fire department and rescue service, quickly produced around 2,000 makeshift face masks and around 300 gowns to support the work of the emergency services.

This was particularly helpful in the early days of the pandemic, as both the fire and rescue services and the general public had to adapt to this new pandemic situation. The expertise of the medical management of the rescue service of the professional fire department was just as important for medical questions as the team of psychosocial emergency care (PSNV), which always had an open ear for the concerns of the rescue workers.

With the film, which can be seen on the YouTube channel of the city of Salzgitter (opens in a new tab), the professional fire department would like to thank the helpers for their support.
