As part of the sports facility renovation program, the state of Lower Saxony is focusing on the renovation of sports halls and indoor swimming pools this year.

In the Amselstieg sports hall, the changing rooms and washrooms are being renovated and the pipes and lighting are being replaced. Work is due to start in the fall.

The state grant will cover 80 percent of the costs, while the city will cover 20 percent itself. "Money well and wisely invested," says Klingebiel, "whether school or club sport, everyone benefits from a modern sports hall!"
