Salzgitter

50 years of Atelier 70

Atelier 70, the photography workshop of the Volkshochschule of the city of Salzgitter, is 50 years old this year. The photographers are celebrating this milestone anniversary with special exhibitions. Interested parties are invited to the exhibition opening on Thursday, February 6.

In the Volkshochschule's new program, the photographers introduce themselves with pictures and text and refer to this year's exhibitions. After the kick-off in February with the current works of Atelier 70 members, the Nordmark Photo Championship will follow: on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of Atelier 70, the German Association for Photography has entrusted Atelier 70 with the organization of this championship. In June, the best amateur photographers in northern Germany will compete against each other. The best exhibits from the competition will be shown in the atrium of Lebenstedt Town Hall from June 8. Further exhibitions will also take place in the second half of the year. If you would like to find out more in advance, you will find further details in the new VHS program.

The Atelier 70 photography group at the Volkshochschule Salzgitter is a creative group of committed photographers of different ages who share a love of photography. Started in 1970 as a photography course at the Volkshochschule, a photo working group was formed which joined the German Association for Photography in 1975. The members work individually, but exchange ideas, learn from each other and exhibit together.
