Play paradise in Osterlinde

Now it just needs to rain a lot: Because the turf laid on the playground in Osterlinde first needs water to grow so that it can be played on later.

The work on the playground in Osterlinde is on schedule.

This is what the children, who voted in two participation campaigns last year to decide which play facilities should be built on Schlesierweg, are waiting for. The employees of the SRB are currently implementing the children's plans and are well on schedule for the planned inauguration in mid-July.

A sand play area with a toddler seesaw, a double horizontal bar, a sand play table, a play tower with slide and much more. A playground for children is being created on around 900 square meters, who voted in two participation campaigns in summer 2019 that the playground should also have play facilities for toddlers and a seating area for everyone. This is why there is a seating area with two benches between the sand play area and the fire station playhouse for the little ones. At the back of the playground there will be a double swing with a toddler seat. A ground-level trampoline right next to it invites children to jump. The playground will be fully fenced. Barrier-free access to the playground will be created.

The turf still needs sufficient water and time to grow.

The children's greatest wish also came true: the ropeway, which was installed on the eastern boundary of the plot and is already firmly anchored in the ground. Tree trunks are currently being installed as seating in the adjacent, partially planted hills. The central playground area invites children to play freely.

However, this is not possible at the moment because the work has not yet been completed. In addition, the turf needs water to form a firm sward so that it can then be put under full load. It is therefore expected to take around four to six weeks before the playground can be opened. The inauguration is planned for mid-July, the details will be announced in advance. The children will then be able to spend their vacations in the new play paradise on Schlesierweg. Maybe the parents can come along too... Of course, it shouldn't rain so much then...
