1,000 trees for Salzgitter

To improve climate protection and biodiversity in the city, the Salzgitter City Council has decided to launch the "1,000 trees for Salzgitter" campaign.

In addition to the planned planting of 1,000 trees by the city itself on available areas, interested citizens will also be provided with trees to plant on their properties upon request. As part of this campaign, interested parties can receive young trees (selected native species and high-stemmed fruit trees) free of charge from the city during the planting season in November / December 2022, which they can plant and subsequently care for themselves.

It should be noted that the trees may only be used for voluntary planting in order to actually achieve added value for the natural environment. Use for planting as part of building permits or other projects requiring approval is therefore excluded. Furthermore, the requirements under private law for the planned planting on the respective property must be fulfilled.

This year, orders can still be placed until 15.09.2022. Otherwise, the City of Salzgitter would not be able to order the trees until next year at planting time. Further information is available from the City of Salzgitter by telephone on 05341 / 839-3992 and by email: henny.fruehaufstadt.salzgitterde
