During the second phase of the "Wettiner Heide" exercise from May 7 to 20, military vehicle traffic, especially heavy-duty transports, transportation of large goods and goods of all kinds, can be expected as individual vehicles, but also in marching columns in the districts of Lüneburg, Heidekreis, Celle, Gifhorn, Wolfsburg, Braunschweig, Salzgitter and in the Hanover region at irregular times during the day and night.

There may be traffic obstructions due to convoys and extra-wide armored tracked and wheeled vehicles in the periods and areas mentioned. The Bundeswehr asks for the public's understanding for possible restrictions during this period.

According to the Bundeswehr, the exercise is not directly related to the current Russia-Ukraine conflict and is part of a series of exercises planned for several years to establish operational readiness for Germany's leading role within NATO.
