In order to reduce the necessary disruption to traffic, the project will be divided into three construction phases.

In the first section, the cycle path from the traffic light junction L 472/Erzwäsche/Vor der Burg to the Engerode exit will be renewed. During this time, cycle traffic will be routed via the Erzwäsche road to Engerode and from there back onto the L 472 and vice versa.

At the same time, a second section of the cycle path in Salzgitter-Bad near the fire station is being renovated.
Cycle traffic will be routed here from the Salzgitter-Bad Burgstraße junction via Engeroder Straße, Elbestraße and Breite Straße to Salzgitter-Bad and vice versa.

It is planned to complete the construction work in these two construction phases after approximately 2 weeks.

From Wednesday, May 4, work will then continue on the cycle path between the Engerode/Calbrecht junction and the Burgstraße junction. In this construction phase, cycle traffic will be routed via the Erzwäsche road to Calbecht and from there onto the K 24 and further onto a dirt road running parallel to the L 472 to the B 248 in Salzgitter-Bad.

A detour will be signposted. This work is expected to be completed within 2 weeks.

Motor vehicle traffic will be diverted past the roadworks in one lane. The right-hand lane in the direction of Goslar will be closed for this purpose.
