Damage has been occurring in the hairpin bend (serpentine) for a number of years, which appeared as prominent cracks in the asphalt pavement. These cracks were previously repaired as part of road maintenance. However, the same pattern of damage has occurred time and again.
The committee was informed about a strategy to secure the supply of doctors in Salzgitter. This is because the situation is strained and threatens to become even more difficult in the coming years. The reasons and framework conditions have already been presented to the council and local councils in the so-called "GP concept" (3765/17-MV). This involves the implementation of specific practice situations and also a long-term strategy for a future-oriented care structure in Salzgitter and the surrounding areas.
As it can be assumed that the overall framework conditions, including the bureaucratic hurdles, will not change or will not take effect for several years, a fundamental adjustment of the supply structures is to be discussed. A permanent working structure is planned for this purpose, in which the political and technical issues will be discussed in depth and solutions developed.
Following approval by the Council, the agreement between the City of Salzgitter and Freiwilligen-Zentrum-Salzgitter e.V. will be extended to regulate the execution of tasks as part of the state of Lower Saxony's Ehrenamtskarte. The administration was also commissioned to carry out the renaturation measures in the Fuhse section between the BAB 39 and Theodor-Heuss-Straße. The redesign of the Fuhse section will be carried out exclusively on city-owned land.
The city parliament also decided to amend the "Council Rules of Procedure". On the occasion of the Council meeting on 02.02.2022, at which the press was not permitted to take photographs with reference to the Council's rules of procedure due to an objection by a member of the Council, the administration examined the current legal situation. According to the Lower Saxony Municipal Constitution Act (NKomVG), photographs may be taken in public meetings if they do not jeopardize the order of the meeting. According to the relevant commentary, the right to privacy regularly takes second place to the fundamental right to freedom of the press, as the council members are not affected by their participation in council meetings as private individuals, but as public officials.
Other items on the agenda: Climate protection focus concept for mobility, Lower Saxony regional planning program, wastewater disposal statutes
At the end of the meeting, there were motions and questions from the political groups. The current and detailed agenda can be viewed in the citizen information system at salzgitter.de.
