"Kurt Landauer - the president of FC Bayern - correspondence with Maria Baumann" is the title of the lecture on Wednesday, May 11, 7.30 to 9 pm. The life story of Kurt Landauer (1884-1961) from Munich has been recorded in several books and has also been made into a film.
He was the legendary president of FC Bayern and was one of the few people persecuted as Jews under National Socialism who decided to return home from emigration after the Shoah. The sensational estate of Kurt Landauer and his wife Maria Baumann (1899-1971) is now accessible and opens up unknown insights into Landauer's family history in the pre-war period, Landauer's emigration to Switzerland and post-war history in Munich.
In a discussion, the two editors Jutta Fleckenstein and Rachel Salamander will provide insights into the now published correspondence with Maria Baumann and the previously unknown biography of Kurt Landauer.
