Geocaching: "An adventure round for the whole family" is the motto on Saturday, April 23, from 10 am to 1 pm.
The Salzgitter Nature and Biodiversity Conservation Union (NABU) has set up its own internal adventure trail at the Biological Station. An exciting treasure hunt awaits participants young and old, either with their own cell phone or with the station's GPS devices.
A total of seven successive caches of varying degrees of difficulty have to be found. Each location is encoded with a tricky natural puzzle.
A prize awaits at the end, as well as a cozy campfire with stick bread.
What to bring: A drink and weatherproof clothing that can get dirty. Geocaching costs 20 euros; the meeting point is at the NABU Salzgitter Biological Station, Siebenbürgener Straße, in Lebenstedt.
On Sunday, April 24, from 10 a.m. to 12:15 p.m., you can go on an "expedition into the bird kingdom".
Goldcrest or thrush, greenfinch or starling? The local bird world is as fascinating as it is diverse. With an experienced ornithologist, participants go on a bird excursion, observe, listen very carefully and try to identify the special character of each animal.
Course location: Biological Station of the Nature and Biodiversity Conservation Union (NABU), Siebenbürgener Straße in Lebenstedt. The expedition costs 12 euros.
