"clever heating!" - Online lecture and group consultation

Many homeowners are currently asking themselves how they can become less dependent on oil and gas and the rapidly rising energy prices.

How can your own heating system be made fit for the future and how can you switch to renewable energy sources? Private homeowners should find out in good time. The "clever heizen!" service offers help with an online presentation and subsequent group consultation.

The online lecture and group consultation will take place on Monday, November 21, from 6 to 8 pm. "We will be happy to accept registrations during our business hours and answer questions about the consultation and the further procedure," says Jan Holzenbecher, Climate Protection Manager for the City of Salzgitter. Registrations can be made by e-mail at klimaschutzstadt.salzgitterde.

The "clever heizen!" campaign is a joint project of the Lower Saxony Consumer Advice Center, the Lower Saxony Climate Protection and Energy Agency and the City of Salzgitter. The consultations are carried out as part of the energy advice provided by the consumer advice center and are funded by the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Protection.

"In private households, over 80 percent of energy requirements are used for heating and hot water. The potential for savings through measures, particularly in heating technology, is therefore huge," explains Gerhard Krenz from the Climate Protection and Energy Agency of Lower Saxony. The three organizations have joined forces for the "clever heizen!" campaign so that interested homeowners can find out how they can save energy in their heating systems and where they can use renewable energy.

In the online lecture, an energy consultant from the consumer advice center first provides basic knowledge about heating. After the presentation, participants can ask their questions live to other experts in smaller groups. For example, they can ask about technical and economic aspects, tips on optimization, replacing heating systems or funding opportunities. The experts can also be asked questions relating to the specific circumstances of their own home. "Anyone who wants to optimize their heating system or is already thinking about replacing their system will receive information on the possibilities for improvement and the heating options available in the building, including renewable energies. This insight into the technology, costs, funding options and CO2 balance helps with the decision-making process," explains Karin Merkel from the Lower Saxony Consumer Advice Center.
