Pop-up modules in the center of Lebenstedt

New attractions in the center of Salzgitter-Lebenstedt are causing a stir: Over the past weekend, the newly installed table tennis table on the Stadtmonument square and a publicly accessible piano in front of the Stadtpassage have already generated a lot of attention.

Over the next two to three weeks (22 to 24 calendar week 2024), more of these so-called pop-up modules will appear in the city center.

In Salzgitter-Bad

In a few weeks (June 2024), the modules will disappear from Lebenstedt and "pop up" again in Salzgitter-Bad - hence the name of the modules.

The project

The project is being implemented by the city of Salzgitter in cooperation with Wirtschafts- und Innovationsförderung Salzgitter GmbH (WIS).

It is part of the measures being implemented as part of the "Sustainable inner cities and centers (ZIZ)" inner city funding program of the Ministry of Housing, Urban Development and Construction.

90 percent of the project costs are covered by the funding.

The pop-up modules are intended to create new incentives for Salzgitter residents to visit the city centers. The modules are intended to increase the quality of stay and create free (leisure) activities and attractive meeting places.

The aim is to support the retail and gastronomy sectors and preserve the status of the city centers as social hubs
