Salzgitter

Council meeting on November 20

At its meeting on November 20, the Salzgitter City Council was informed about barrier-free access to Salzgittersee, among other things. The plan is to commission two access points to the waterfront in 2025 and 2026.

On the northern shore in the Reppnersche Bucht area, there are plans to build a paved jetty with a platform over the water. Barrier-free bathing access is to be created on the western beach. The construction of a changing room near the water ramp will complement the barrier-free access.

According to the structural concept, further planning contracts are to be awarded for the eastern shore of Salzgittersee, which will deal with the design of the lake promenade between the DLRG and the lake clubs, as well as the further development of the pathways on the eastern side of the lake. As part of these plans, further barrier-free access to the shore can be created in the form of a footbridge or platform in the area of the parking lot on Zum Salzgittersee.

The parking situation for people with disabilities is to be improved and expanded this year at the north, west and east parking lots. Additional disabled parking spaces will be designated and signposted accordingly. Existing parking spaces and access routes will be adapted to the current sizes for disabled parking spaces and newly marked.

Other items on the agenda: Volunteer fire department bylaws, expansion of Museumstrasse, cemetery bylaws, waste fee bylaws, street cleaning bylaws, further development of weekly markets

The meeting ended with motions and questions from the political groups. The current and detailed agenda can be viewed in the Council information system.
