Based on the results of the public participation in 2018, a first draft of a target and structural concept was developed.
This draft will be presented in a workshop on 16.04.2024 from 17:00 to 20:30. The ideas will be reviewed and further developed together.

What is the purpose of the target and structural concept?
The completed target and structural concept serves as a framework for the further development of Salzgittersee in the future. It is used to further specify the topics already defined in the previous steps and adapt them to the findings of the public participation process.
In the target and structural concept, the findings from the participation process are brought together and harmonized with overarching planning objectives such as good connections to the existing districts, the creation of attractive living space, climate protection, economic efficiency, ecology and mobility.
The target and structural concept lays the foundation for the further development of the lake. As a first step, it serves as a guideline for a planning competition. This competition will lead to a detailed design, which will include buildings, paths and open spaces.
The draft resolution on the target and structural concept is to be presented to the Council for a decision in the second half of 2024.
