The "Fit for the Year" project kicked off during the Easter vacations. 23 girls and boys aged 9 to 15 had a lot of fun with the various activities and also learned about the history and attractions of the region.
They went to the fitness park in Salzgitter-Bad for a fitness check and on a scavenger hunt at Gebhardshagen Castle with its knight's castle playground. At the Salder Castle Municipal Museum, the kids learned about the Spürnasen app and made their own soapstone figure.
The girls and boys spent a day at the Hamberg children's and youth club (KJT) baking and making Easter presents. They romped and danced. One special feature was a visit to Tipih Steinlah. The girls and boys enjoyed the sunny day with the horses.
Many photos were taken during the week to record the project and create a leisure guide. The idea: a leisure guide for kids that summarizes various activities and offers in the region for children and young people. This is intended to help children and young people to organize their leisure time in a meaningful way and discover new interests and hobbies.
In the summer vacations, the program continues with "Kreativ durchstarten". "We are looking forward to continuing the journey of discovery in Salzgitter and the surrounding area and experiencing lots of exciting adventures," says project manager Manuela Sieker.
