VHS offer for young people for the Europawahl elections

With the lowering of the voting age for the Europawahl elections on June 9, more than one million young people aged 16 and over in Germany will have the opportunity to vote for the first time.

On this day, the citizens of the EU elect the members of the European Parliament.

Young people feel the same way as many adult voters - not everyone is aware of how and what exactly is being voted for on this day. The Volkshochschule and the City of Salzgitter's Youth and Democracy Education Team are inviting interested young people to a workshop and a bus trip through Salzgitter so that young first-time voters can ask experts any questions they may have about the elections and the EU and receive clear and competent answers.

Discuss with EU experts during bus trip

Under the title "By bus through Salzgitter - young people discuss Europe", participants can first exchange ideas at the workshop on Wednesday, May 8, from 2.30 to 4.30 p.m. at the Volkshochschule, Thiestraße 26 a, in Lebenstedt. Joint questions for the experts will be prepared here.

The young people will then meet the experts on a bus trip through Salzgitter on Thursday, May 16, at 8.45 am. The bus will start in front of the town hall in Lebenstedt.

Please register!

So that the two organizers can plan, they ask interested young people to register on the Volkshochschule website www.vhs-salzgitter.de or on Instagram vhs.sz .

Participation is free of charge. If you have any questions about the workshop and the bus trip, please contact Antje Behre at antje.behrestadt.salzgitterde or call 05341 / 839-2223 or Kristina Wojna at kristina.wojnastadt.salzgitterde or 05341 / 839-3716.
