Building work in the town hall

The renovation of the main entrance to the town hall in Lebenstedt begins on Friday, March 21.

During the work, visitors will use a barrier-free ramp to the right of the previous entrance. A double automatic sliding door with a vestibule will be built in place of the previous revolving door. The work is expected to last until the end of May. The costs for this measure amount to around 150,000 euros.

City planning officer Michael Tacke explains: "The entrance area to the atrium with our service point is the area that most citizens see. In recent years, the malfunctioning revolving door at the entrance has caused high costs for its repair. Subject to the necessary council resolution, the renovation of the entrance is the first step of further renovation measures in the atrium. This will then include the renewal of the floor covering and the installation of a guidance and information system. I ask all citizens for their understanding for any inconvenience caused by the work."
