During an inspection of the water pipe network by WEVG, it was discovered that there are defective gate valves in a main water pipe in the eaves area of the Esche. These need to be replaced for reasons of supply reliability. The civil engineering work required for this means that the ash tree has to be removed. For safety reasons, water and gas pipes must be at least two meters away from trees.

The SRB will have the tree removed in week 19 (from 05.05.25). A compensatory planting for the removed tree will take place next fall.
