Book tips from the city library on TV 38

Around two and a half million book titles are available in Germany. Around 70,000 new publications are added every year. How can you keep track of all this? How do you find new and preferably good books? In the Salzgitter City Library, of course!

Barbara Henning, Sylvia Fiedler and Dr. Henrik Stehlik (from left) present their personal book favorites on TV 38 in the show "LektÜ.de".

For those who like to be recommended reading, there is the "LektÜ.de" section on the city library's website(https://www.salzgitter.de/bildung/stabi/stadtbibliothek.php) (opens in a new tab). Behind this are personal book reviews and reading tips for books that have particularly inspired employees of the city library and make them want to read.

The selection is personal. It ranges from new releases on the book market to literary classics. The recommendations come from the wide range of fiction for adults with novels, short stories, drama and suspense as well as literature for young adults. In any case, readers can look forward to tips on new releases, series, special literary treasures and recent discoveries.

Sylvia Fiedler, Dr. Henrik Stehlik and Barbara Henning present their personal highlights on TV 38 in the program "LektÜ.de".

The three present their personal favorites such as "Ein anderes Leben" by Caroline Peters, "Miss Marple-Stories" or "Olaf ermittelt" by Wolfgang Hofer in the 30-minute episodes that are currently being broadcast. The focus is on new novels as well as books that are important and worth reading for the team and should not be forgotten.

These cinematic book tips are intended to arouse curiosity, invite people to read and to visit the city library, where all the books presented can be borrowed (or pre-ordered).

The broadcast dates can be viewed in the program preview on TV 38 and can also be found on YouTube afterwards.
