On the first day, there were various play stations and a graffiti activity in the outdoor area of the Kniestedter Herrenhaus: the focus was on movement, creativity and fun. The children had the opportunity to realize their ideas on their own canvas. Using colors and a lot of imagination, they created their own pictures and finally a joint banner. The group agreed that this was a great opportunity to discover or develop their artistic skills.
For music enthusiasts, there were workshops on Zumba and rap, where the kids were able to improve their dancing and speaking skills. Rhythm and musicality were also the focus of the African drumming course, which was very popular with the girls and boys.
The children got creative with handicrafts, stone painting, polymer clay jewelry making and jewelry design. They were able to test their handicraft skills in pottery. In the cross-stitching and hand-sewing courses, in which a mouse or a teddy bear were sewn, for example, the participants learned some handicraft techniques. Creative photography with the smartphone sharpened the eye for beautiful motifs.
Culinary delights were also on offer: the children baked and prepared small treats, which they were later able to present at the closing ceremony. The children also designed attractive table decorations for this event, which allowed them to put their ideas into practice.
"The talentCAMPus vacation program is a varied vacation time that promotes the children's creativity as well as teamwork and motor skills," says VHS project manager Manuela Sieker. The enthusiasm of the children was a nice confirmation for the talentCAMPus team. Everyone is already looking forward to the fall: from October 13 to 17, the theme will be "Digital and creative experiences". Anyone who would like to find out more can contact Manuela Sieker (0 53 41/ 839-22 03).
The "talentCAMPus" concept is a contribution by the German Adult Education Association to the "Kultur macht stark. Bündnisse für Bildung" program of the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF)
