Salzgitter

Photographic stagings

ATELIER 70, the photo working group of the Volkshochschule of the city of Salzgitter, invites you to the exhibition opening on Thursday, September 4, at 7 pm under the title "Staged!".

Goldgrüberstimmung

The task for the photographers was to create staged photos with a thematic background. The staging was intended to present elements of the image content in a defined context in order to arouse certain emotional reactions in the viewer.

The participants could dress up or wear masks to portray interesting characters in stage-like settings. Costumes and props helped to enhance the effect of the photographs between reality and fiction.

Four female photographers and seven male photographers show their photos.

The ATELIER 70 photo study group at the Volkshochschule Salzgitter is a creative group of committed photographers of different ages who share a love of photography. Started in 1970 as a photography course at the Volkshochschule, a photo working group was formed which joined the German Association for Photography in 1975. The members work individually, but exchange ideas, learn from each other and exhibit together.

In the community, photographic content and techniques are intensively developed, taught and put into practice. Photographic "learning to see" and image composition are fundamental tasks. In image discussions, all participants critically examine, discuss and evaluate their own photographs. The members deal with the contents and questions of color and image design theory as well as the implementation of creative ideas.
