The new mobile youth club is an innovative solution for reaching young people in the places where they spend their free time. It can therefore make an important contribution to equal opportunities and integration. Here they can meet up, spend their free time together and, if necessary, find support or initial advice on their own problems.
The Freizeitmobil will now be visiting various locations in Salzgitter in order to reach young people who spend their free time in public spaces. The educational specialists from the Youth in the Community team will accompany the activities in order to create an atmosphere of trust and build relationships with the young people.
The activities include soccer, various board games and media, such as chess, Uno, SkipBo, Playstation 5, Nintendo Switch, VR glasses, music, creative activities and, of course, a "sympathetic ear" for all the young people's everyday problems, big and small.
The recreational vehicle is a converted MAN van (type TGE). It has enough space to transport the numerous items of play equipment, seating and various accessories. During operation on site, there is also seating in the van. The procurement of the vehicle and the necessary equipment was financed by the integration fund of the state of Lower Saxony. The costs amounted to around 70,000 euros.
Incidentally, the name of the recreational vehicle will be chosen in a future participatory campaign with the young people using it.

In the week starting July 28, the leisure mobile will be parked at the soccer court in Fredenberg behind the GAF gymnasium from Monday to Friday from 2 pm to 7 pm. This may be adjusted depending on usage. Please refer to the information on the above-mentioned information channels.
