The special exhibition "Who runs when there's a fire?" can already be considered a great museum success.
In the first six weeks alone, over 1,300 visitors to the "Kuhstall" special exhibition building were enthralled by the colorful and inspiring fire department show and its numerous hands-on stations. There were also 17 guided tours for children's groups with almost 400 mostly young guests.
And the enthusiasm is not waning: A further 26 guided tours of the special exhibition have already been reserved for children and young people. In addition to many schools and kindergartens, many children's and youth fire departments from Salzgitter, Hildesheim and the district of Wolfenbüttel are also taking advantage of the offer. Anyone who wants to get a free date for their group should therefore hurry now.
As the show can also be seen during the Easter vacations, it covers the vacation period, which is usually particularly busy. Then there is a colorful Easter vacation craft program by the museum education department.
The museum festival from May 10 to 11 is also a good opportunity to visit the exhibition. On this weekend, the museum education department will be offering lots of extras at the festival, which this time has the theme "Fire Brigade".
Opening hours of the exhibition
"Wer rennt wenn's brennt?" is always open from Tuesdays to Sundays, from 11 am to 5 pm. The museum is only closed on Good Friday and May 1st.
On Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays (except Good Friday and May 1st), younger visitors in particular are invited to take part in fire experiments in the exhibition at 11.30 am, 2 pm and 3.30 pm. Participation is free, the number of places is limited. Pre-registration is not possible.
Additional museum educational offers for children's groups and school classes also provide a special insight into the exhibition. Anyone interested can simply contact the museum by email at museumstadt.salzgitterde.
