Internet security: "No likes for lies / fake news"

To mark the nationwide Safer Internet Day (internet safety) on February 11, 2025, an interactive exhibition was held at the "Forellenhof" in Salzgitter.

The exhibition was prepared and accompanied by pupils from the "Medien ScoutSZ" project (joint project between the city of Salzgitter, SZ police and four participating schools from Salzgitter). This year's Safer Internet Day motto was: "No likes for lies" - it was all about fake news.

André Greco from the city of Salzgitter accompanied the project on the day. Sabrina Schmidt from the police side.

The pupils from each participating school, the city of Salzgitter and the police prepared various interactive exhibition areas on the topic and accompanied them during the exhibition. The main focus here was on recognizing fake news, where can I find fake news in current topics and taking a stand against the spread of fake news.

What was special this year was that the exhibition was organized by pupils for pupils. One year group from each of the four participating schools was invited to visit the exhibition. In total, around 260 pupils visited the exhibition with their teachers.
