One of them who has always been committed to the festival is Siegbert Lauk-Reineke, who was one of the few people at the beginning who pushed through the idea of a festival in the tradition of the Wandermusikanten from Salzgitter - the Klesmer - against some resistance. "Just do it, that's what he stood for decades and still stands behind the idea of the Klesmer and world music festival today," said Bohling. He simply wanted to say thank you to Lauk-Reineke on this day by presenting him with a gift basket and honoring him for his services to the festival.
Honoring Siegbert Lauk-Reineke at the 26th Festival of Klesmer and World Music
According to city councillor Jan Erik Bohling in his opening speech at the 26th Festival of Klesmer and World Music, it is thanks to committed citizens that the music festival attracts a wide audience to the Klesmerplatz in Salzgitter-Bad every year.
