In front of the girls and boys from all classes of the elementary school, a contract between the school and the municipal library was signed during the monthly forum with musical and artistic performances by the children, which will give the children lots of reading fun and enjoyment of books.

"Reading and dealing with books and other media are important prerequisites for children to speak well, train their memory, learn to concentrate and become creative. The city library and school have the task of imparting knowledge and education, which is why the cooperation agreement is an ideal way to implement this mission together," says Sylvia Fiedler, head of the city library, about the purpose of the partnership and adds: "We are looking forward to many different activities to which we will contribute our expertise as a library in various forms."
The contract was accompanied by a small book package from the city library, which also symbolically sealed the new partnership.

Christel Jamaszyk, Head of Dürerring Primary School, said at the handover of the cooperation agreement: "Our reading room has been offering reading incentives for many years, which the children enjoy using. The proximity to the district library on Fredenberg, which we can reach on foot, is a great advantage for us, which we are happy to use. We have a great interest in awakening a love of books in as many children and their families as possible.

We are excited to see what content the partnership will be filled with and are sure that the cooperation will develop to our mutual advantage,

Salzgitter City Library has cooperation agreements with several schools of different types in the city. Children can use the Salzgitter City Library free of charge until they reach the age of 18.
