Kultursommer Salzgitter: Max Mutzke and band

On Sunday, August 3, at 8 p.m., Max Mutzke and his band will perform in the courtyard of the Salder Castle Municipal Museum in Salzgitter-Salder as part of the Kultursommer Salzgitter.

On closer inspection, Max Mutzke is more than just a single artist. This has to do with the charismatic singer and songwriter's incredible versatility and insatiable creative curiosity.

He is driven by an unconditional desire to surprise and captivate his audience time and time again. Be it pop, rock, soul, funk or jazz - Max Mutzke has a thousand musical facets at his disposal, which he can easily fit under one of the hats that have become his trademark over the past decade and a half.

Bio of Max Mutzke

He has been making music since he was six years old. Growing up in an artistic household - his mother was an actress, his father a doctor and jazz musician - he was able to try out all sorts of things at a young age. In 2004, he stepped into the spotlight for the first time: as the winner of Stefan Raab's "SSDSGPS" show, the preliminary round of the Eurovision Song Contest, in which he came 8th shortly afterwards. His final song "Can't Wait Until Tonight" went straight to number 1 in the German charts. He was 23 at the time and actually busy with his A-levels in Cologne.

In 2005, he released his self-titled debut album, which also shot to number 1 in the charts and laid the foundations on which Max Mutzke's absolutely exceptional status within German pop music is still based today. Groundedness, a constant desire for further development and his instantly recognizable, soulful-soft velvet voice are characteristics that have established themselves as a firm trademark in his music. The singer and musician loves the break, the greatest possible contrast. While he is a regular guest on Stefan Raab's action shows such as "Schlag den Raab" or "TV Total Stockcar Crash Challenge", he seeks balance in performances with various renowned big bands such as the SWR Big Band or Klaus Doldinger's legendary Passport. He takes part in Peter Maffay's musical "Tabaluga" and is in front of the microphone for children's music productions such as "Giraffenaffen".

He works with a wide variety of artists such as Diane Weigmann, Jazzkantine, Klaus Doldinger, who have already performed on Salzgitter's stages, and Laith Al-Deen, and also performs regularly with his side project "monoPunk". Everything but repetition.

Before Max Mutzke's performance, New Zealander Teresa Bergman takes to the stage with her band:

The New Zealand singer and composer Teresa Bergman once came to Europe on a one-way ticket and found her musical home in the melting pot of Berlin, where she developed her versatile sound.

From the very first bars, it is clear that this is an extraordinary artist at work - with captivating songs, a voice that seems to know no bounds, unbridled energy and a unique charisma.

When Teresa enters the stage with her guitar and band and unleashes her unmistakable groove, memories of greats such as Joni Mitchell, Fiona Apple or Wallis Bird are evoked. Her impressive and versatile voice is her
trademark and her spontaneous stage presence immediately captivates the audience.

With her flair for musical contrasts, the interplay of lightness and depth and her charmingly ironic theatricality, Teresa transforms every concert into an intimate yet captivating experience
