European Mobility Week 2025: Salzgitter takes part with a varied program!
To mark European Mobility Week, the city of Salzgitter and 16 project partners are offering a varied program of information and hands-on activities from 16 to 26 September.
"We are inviting you to take part in special activities and join in the program in September," says city planning officer Michael Tacke on behalf of the project partners. The topics of mobility, heating and energy are important issues for the future that affect all citizens. That is why there is a lot of information, hands-on activities and various offers to try out on these topics:
Michael Tacke thanked everyone involved in the project for the program and their commitment to the people of Salzgitter and the current topics of mobility, heating and energy.
The opening day on September 16, on which the partners will offer a varied program for the citizens in and in front of the Kulturscheune in Lebenstedt (Thiestraße 22), is a special event: Road safety and tips from the police, test drives in an electric car; a wheelchair course (discovering the limits and perspectives of mobility in a practical way), hands-on activities for children, music, information stands and much more.
A first: during the campaign week from September 16 to 22, the Braunschweig Region Transport Association (VRB) is offering a 30 percent discount on all public transport journeys throughout the VRB network area, thus sending out a clear signal for climate protection and mobility. The promotional discount is available via the FAIRTIQ ticket app and is automatically taken into account when calculating the fare.
In addition, there will be further innovations during the campaign days (September 16 to 26). During the campaign days (September 16 to 26), there will also be further innovations at the Hydrogen Campus (everyday life in science will be vividly presented for schoolchildren), at KVG (tour of the new depot), REA (Regional Energy Agency) and Ostfalia University (round table on electromobility on the topic of "autonomous driving"), Alstom (guided tour of the museum and tour of a shunting locomotive converted from diesel to hydrogen), WEVG (various presentations and advisory services), Wirtschafts- und Innovationsgesellschaft (WIS) and Salzgitter Flachstahl (SALCOS presentation): Anyone who has always wanted to find out about the new projects or deepen their knowledge of mobility, heat and energy is invited.
