The Raschèr Saxophone Quartet's concerts and workshop on the second weekend in September are an autumn highlight. Christine Rall, Morgan Webster, Andreas van Zoelen and Oscar Trompenaars will teach classical saxophone for three days and give a concert!
Since its foundation in 1969, the Raschèr Saxophone Quartet has performed regularly in major concert halls in Europe, Asia and the USA.
The ensemble continues the tradition of the pioneer Sigurd Raschèr, who inspired numerous composers to write music for him in the 1930s.
The quartet itself has motivated more than 300 composers to dedicate works to it and inspires with its homogeneous sound quality, virtuosity and dynamic interpretation.
Collaborations with orchestras have led to over 40 new compositions and numerous performances with leading orchestras worldwide as well as in various instrumental and vocal formations.
In Salzgitter, saxophonists aged 12 to 94 can take part in workshops with the world-famous quartet from September 12 to 14. Both amateurs and professionals are invited. The course includes individual and ensemble lessons, interpretation, repertoire questions, tone formation, overblowing technique, embouchure, finger technique, vibrato, intonation, information about mouthpieces and reeds. Further information about the participation fee and registration can be found on the website (https://www.salzgitter.de/kultur/saxophon-workshop).
The "Raschèr Saxophone Quartet" invites you to a concert in the Kulturscheune in Lebenstedt on Saturday, September 13, at 8 pm . Those who want to hear the musical interplay of the professionals do not need to travel to the Elbphilharmonie or abroad, but can experience them in Salzgitter.
As the grand finale, the traditional final concert of the workshop will take place on Sunday, September 14, at 4 p.m. in the Alte Feuerwache in Lebenstedt, where the participants will present the knowledge and skills they have learned together with the instructors.
In Salzgitter, the audience can then look forward to Polkaholix, who will be presenting their "Selfies from Absurdistan" on Saturday, September 27 (7.30 p.m. Kulturscheune, Lebenstedt) . Musical selfies from a world full of absurdities with deep messages of love, friendship, longing and the pursuit of happiness. Polkaholix play with clichés and stereotypes, don't take themselves or others too seriously and celebrate life with all its ups and downs.
