Salzgitter

New playground on Fredenberg

In the Fredenberg-West development area in Salzgitter-Lebenstedt, the completed playground in Helene-Lange-Weg, which also includes a green area, has been open since today, Thursday, July 17.

Picture of the playground

The playground was planned by the City of Salzgitter's municipal management company (SRB) and has been built by a gardening and landscaping company since late fall 2024.

The playground offers a variety of new play options such as a climbing frame with slide, a double swing, a standing carousel, a balancing course, a double bar as well as a sand playhouse and a wobbly animal for younger children. A green area next to the playground with a lawn and wildflower meadow as well as numerous trees extends the range of public green spaces in the new development area.

After a long dry period, the rain of the past two weeks has given the sown lawn the necessary boost. The pitch can now be played on immediately. The remaining construction fences are currently being removed and a playground sign is being erected.

The construction costs for the playground, the green area and the central footpath, which complements the existing connecting paths in the development area, amounted to 176,000 euros. The area has a total size of 2,250 square meters, the size of the playground is 1,000 square meters.
