This course introduces children to the exciting world of model railroads. Together, we build a small double-track railroad line on which real trains run - almost like on the big train.

What can the children look forward to?

• Planning and building a commuter line with level crossing and St. Andrew's crosses
• Laying the tracks, embankments and ballast just like a real railroad line
• Designing a section of road for the level crossing
• Construction and lighting of small buildings from kits
• Introduction to the world of signals: How do trains stop or start?
• Laying cables and connecting tracks, signals, points and lighting

Participants do not need any previous knowledge. All you need to bring is an interest in building, tinkering and working!

At the end of the course, the children will understand how a model railroad works and will be able to build and connect many things themselves.

The vacation course "Taster offer: model railroads for children and young people aged 8 and over (part 1)" takes place from Monday, October 13 to Thursday, October 16, from 10.30 a.m. to 12 noon, at the Volkshochschule Lebenstedt (Thiestraße 26a) and costs 62 euros.
