City library launches new gardening season with seed library

The gardening season has begun and, in keeping with this, the seed library is now open in all branches of the Salzgitter City Library.

The gardening season is starting and the city library is launching its seed library. Vegetable seeds are now available at all branches, along with literature and information on sowing and planting.

If you want to grow vegetables in your garden or on your balcony and are still looking for inspiration, you should visit the seed library.

Anyone interested can simply come to the library, choose seeds and borrow them - until seeds can be obtained from the fruits of the borrowed seeds. When the time comes, they are asked to return the seeds they have collected and dried to the library so that they can be borrowed, planted and harvested again next year.

Seeds can be borrowed from different varieties of lettuce, tomatoes, peas, beans as well as garden melons. The seeds are planted at home and the mature plants are harvested later. These are easy-care and beginner-friendly varieties that are also suitable for gardening novices.

The campaign runs while stocks last.
