Via the filmfriend.de portal, the city library makes feature films and documentaries as well as short films and series available to its users.

Around 2,600 films and 150 series are currently available to customers via the library's Internet address.

The offer differs significantly from the usual streaming portals: users will find mainly German films, international, especially European arthouse titles, film classics, short films, series and documentaries as well as an extensive and exciting offer for children and young people.

The films offered by filmfriend can be viewed on your TV, tablet, laptop or cell phone free of charge using the data on your library card.

The platform developed by filmwerte GmbH from Potsdam-Babelsberg is ad-free and has no time limit. New releases are added daily and the films are always available. The age rating for children is automatically checked when registering on the platform. In this way, the city library is taking the opportunity to reach people who have not previously used or been able to use the traditional ways of watching films.
