Quiet holidays in November

In Lower Saxony, restrictions apply on some public holidays in November in accordance with the Lower Saxony Public Holidays Act.

This affects Remembrance Day on November 16, the Day of Prayer and Repentance on November 19 and the Sunday of the Dead on November 23.

On Remembrance Day and on Remembrance Sunday, events that go beyond the provision of food and drink (e.g. musical performances or prize draws) are prohibited in restaurants, cafés, bars and pubs from 5 a.m. onwards. In addition, entertainment music must be avoided in catering establishments. Furthermore, amusement arcades may not open and other events with parades, light music or other festivities may not take place.

These restrictions also apply on the Day of Prayer and Repentance, but only from 7 am to 11 am.
