On Urban Redevelopment and Socially Integrative City Day, the team from the Urban Redevelopment and Socially Integrative City Department will present the planned conversion plans adopted by the Salzgitter City Council using display walls. Visitors will be able to obtain exclusive information. There will also be an opportunity to view the inside of the assembly hall, which has been "sleeping beauty" for years. A special opportunity!
In cooperation with the Advisory Board for People with Disabilities, there will be hands-on activities for children. Visitors can also take part in a survey and contribute their wishes for the future use of the assembly hall in order to shape the future of the new community facility.
Supported by Diakonie from the Seevierteltreff and Wohnbau Salzgitter from the WoWie Treff, visitors can get into conversation over a cup of coffee and cookies.

Information on the barrier-free conversion of the school auditorium
Since 2008, the city of Salzgitter has been undergoing a comprehensive, integrated and long-term urban redevelopment process in the Seeviertel district, which is being supported with funding from the "Growth and Sustainable Renewal" urban development program (until 2020 urban redevelopment) and is due to be completed in 2027.
By resolution of the Salzgitter City Council on 21.07.2021, it was decided to supplement the urban development concept for the overall "Seeviertel urban redevelopment" measure with the aim of converting the auditorium of St. Michael's elementary school into a community facility.
Keyword: community facility:
Community facilities are facilities that serve the general public. The focus must be on the common good. Examples: Club houses, community centers, meeting rooms.
In Salzgitter-Bad, there are two community facilities: Arche 4 and NOW.
In Lebenstedt, the school auditorium of St. Michael's elementary school is to be converted into a community facility.
There is also the open neighborhood park at Am Ziesberg elementary school, which was redesigned as part of the "Soziale Stadt Salzgitter-Bad/Ost- und Westsiedlung" redevelopment project and can be used by the public.
