The Salzgitter City Library has once again secured well-known authors for an exciting and promising program for this popular series.

Tyrolean bestselling author Bernhard Aichinger kicks off the series of events. He will be reading from his thriller "John" on Friday, March 6, from 6.30 pm in the Lebenstedt City Library. It is about the wanted murderer Yoko, who has gone into hiding under the identity John. When the Yoko file is reopened, John is unmasked and a brilliant hunt begins.

Crime novelist Peter Jackob and former chief inspector Peter Metzdorf promise an entertaining evening under the heading "The Fascination of Sherlock Holmes" on Friday, March 13, from 6.30 p.m. in the Salzgitter-Bad City Library. Peter Jackob will read excerpts from "Der Fall der Fälle. Sherlock Holmes - The late Cases" and answers questions about crime writing. Peter Metzdorf presents insights into police work in the Victorian era and compares it with today. A crime mystery based on a magic trick rounds off the evening.

Arno Strobel will be making a guest appearance at Lebenstedt City Library on Friday, March 27, from 6.30 p.m. with "Unsolved", the opening book in his new thriller series, which will not be launched until the end of February 2026. The first volume of the new series "The First Witness" is about a missing woman and an old kidnapping case. The investigation dramatically reveals what could prove fatal for everyone involved. Arno Strobel once again takes his audience on an exciting journey of discovery into the dark corners of the human soul and brings "Mordsmäßig im März" to a close.

However, the reading program at the city library already begins on Friday, 20 February, when Stefan Gliwitzki will be a guest from 6.30 pm. In addition to his latest novel "Ooge", he will be bringing his guitar and his dog. He uses satire and music to show how the islanders of Ooge, the last remaining place of longing for holiday-hungry mainlanders, make it difficult for guests to be tolerated. The islanders defend themselves against the tourist onslaught with drastic and bizarre measures. Stefan Gliwitzki presents a hilarious story.

With anecdotes and all sorts of interesting and sensual things about swing, Stefan Schael is coming to the Lebenstedt City Library with his program "Can I steal a little love" on Friday, 27 February, from 6.30 pm. In this reading, he demonstrates his two outstanding talents: singing and his pleasant, warm voice, as he takes his audience on the trail of jazz in the era of Duke Ellington and Nat King Cole.
