About the content: "This time sometimes seems like a never-ending tunnel. But there - a light! Or - is that just a... gnome? You can despair these days and say, war, climate, destruction of democracy, chicken warning vests - will it never end? But you can also have a lot of fun with an "opinion dictatorship" that seems to consist of the fact that everyone constantly thinks something and nobody has to go to jail for it. You can hope that the poet Wilhelm Schäikdasbier will save the country and the world: By forging a cross-party alliance with Winfried Kretschmann, Karl Lauterbach and Markus Söder on Markus Lanz's talk show.
And whatever the outcome, always have doubts when people try to sell you a tunnel as a lighthouse project.
Political cabaret in the unmistakable style of Thilo Seibel: emotionally stirring and yet thoroughly researched, strikingly realistic and yet highly amusing, plus a parody series with plenty of light at the end of every tunnel."
News in the new semester:
Interested parties are invited to the cabaret VHS semester opening on Thursday, August 28, at 7 p.m. in the Kulturscheune in Lebenstedt (Thiestraße 22). Admission is free of charge. A collection will be made at the end of the event.
The fall/winter semester begins on September 1 with over 400 courses. The program can be downloaded from the Volkshochschule website (www.vhs-salzgitter).
The VHS motto for the new semester is: "Together in diversity":
440 courses (148 of which are online courses) have been put together by the Volkshochschule team.
Those interested are invited to take part in new exercise courses such as "Tai Chi-Yang Style". Anyone who wants to can discover the culinary delights of Thailand or be enchanted by Scandinavian Christmas.
Thanks to the cooperation between the Arbeitskreis Stadtgeschichte e.V. and the VHS, there are new lectures on the history of Salzgitter.
Those who prefer to be active can experience special features of the region together with others.
The new program will be available in many places in the city from 12 August and has been distributed to those who have attended a VHS course in the past four semesters.
The VHS team will be happy to provide information by telephone on 05341/839-3604 or 839-2200. The Volkshochschule can also be contacted by email at vhsstadt.salzgitterde.
