Participants experience a tea ceremony ("Chado") as it has been practiced in Japan for around 400 years. The participants take part themselves and learn the role of the host and guest (bowing, body movements, handling the tea utensils, drinking tea). There is also the opportunity to ask questions.
"Chado" literally means "the tea path" in Japanese. A fascinating art form has developed around this tea path, which is intended to achieve harmony and inner peace. During the tea ceremony, the hosts and guests move as they did 400 years ago, when the Grand Master Sen-no-Rikyu laid down the basic rules.
