Salzgitter

Conclusion on the 2025 warning day in Salzgitter

On Thursday, September 11, the nationwide warning day was once again held in Salzgitter, where various warning devices were tested on a trial basis.

The integrated control center of the fire department triggered the warning and all-clear siren signals at 11:00 a.m. and 11:45 a.m. respectively, triggering a total of 58 sirens in the city area. In addition, two mobile sirens were successfully tested at two locations in Salzgitter-Thiede. The mobile sirens, which also have announcement capabilities, were used to inform the population about the warning day between the warning and the all-clear. The Salzgitter fire department was supported by units from the DRK and the DLRG Salzgitter. These units are also involved in civil protection.

The warnings by Cell Broadcast and the warning apps are issued via the federal reporting channels and are not the responsibility of the city of Salzgitter.

As in the previous year, Salzgitter fire department personnel were distributed throughout the city to check individual siren locations.

Two existing sirens are currently known not to have been triggered, the maintenance company has already been informed and will check the sirens.

First City Councillor Eric Neiseke, who is also responsible for fire protection, was very satisfied with the results of the 5th warning day. Neiseke expressly emphasized the great importance of the various warning options and sees the continuous review and improvement of the city's warning options as an important building block for civil protection.
