Lord Mayor Frank Klingebiel said at the opening of the two pre-Christmas events: "For the third time, our rose garden in Salzgitter-Bad will present itself in magical light to guests of all ages during the Advent season. The magic of light transforms the rose garden into a magical world of ice. I have worked hard to ensure that this event and "Light the Night" can take place again this year. We are sending out a strong signal for attractive city centers and strengthening local retail and gastronomy. Together with the Weihnachtstreff, the Lichterzauber is sure to attract many visitors."
Weihnachtstreff
The Weihnachtstreff organized by the Salzgitter-Bad e.V. advertising association will once again attract visitors with a small but fine selection of delicacies this year: In addition to a variety of hot and cold drinks, yeast dumplings, waffles, lard cakes, almonds, lángos, cauliflower, chips and hearty barbecue classics provide moments of pleasure.
The Weihnachtstreff will also be accompanied by a varied stage program. Feinblech traditionally opens the program, followed by the X-Mas Opening with DJ Dirk. St. Nicholas has also announced his visit and will make the youngest guests' eyes light up. The Punch and Judy show from the puppet theater will also be visiting on two days. On both Wednesdays, there will be 4 performances between 4 and 7 pm.
Musically, visitors can look forward to many well-known acts. These include Andy Lee, who already caused a great stir two years ago. The stage program always starts between 6 and 7 pm.
Magic lights in the rose garden
In addition to the Weihnachtstreff event, the rose garden in Salzgitter-Bad will be transformed into a fascinating world of lights for the third time. This year, however, visitors can expect a completely new sight: While the rose garden has been bathed in a warm, Christmassy light in recent years, this year the spa gardens will radiate a frosty, wintery magic. An ice garden will be created in which cool blue and white tones and the shimmering colors of the northern lights will create a wintery atmosphere. Between illuminated ice floes, the graduation pavilion looks as if it has been transformed into an ice cave. The Kniestedt manor house will also be staged again this year with various projections.
Anyone who wants to take home an extraordinary souvenir photo should keep an eye out for a block of ice: A smartphone holder makes it possible to take selfies that look like you've been frozen yourself.
To kick off the frosty spectacle, an ice artist will be carving an impressive ice sculpture live on site from 4 pm.
The Magic of Lights and Weihnachtstreff will be officially opened on Friday at 4.30 pm.
Jan Erik Bohling, Managing Director of the Salzgitter Economic and Innovation Development Agency, emphasizes: "I am delighted that we as WIS are creating another highlight alongside the Weihnachtstreff with the Magic of Lights, which invites people to support the local retail trade with their Weihnachtstreff shopping. In keeping with this year's theme, I would like to see another snowy start like in 2023."
