Workshops on the future of weekly markets in Salzgitter

How can the weekly markets in Salzgitter-Bad and Salzgitter-Lebenstedt be made more attractive, lively and sustainable in future?

Two workshops on weekly market development will be held in September.

This question is the focus of a participation process that CIMA Beratung + Management GmbH from Hanover is supporting on behalf of the City of Salzgitter and the Salzgitter Economic and Innovation Development Corporation (WIS).

The central element of this process is two public workshops that will take place at the beginning of September. In these workshops, the CIMA team will work together with vendors, local residents and interested market visitors to determine how the weekly markets can be positioned, designed and organized in the future. All interested parties are cordially invited to take part in the workshops. We would be delighted if you could register by Friday, 05.09.2025, but spontaneous participation is also possible.

The workshops will address the following specific questions, among others

  • How do the participants rate the current range and design of the weekly markets?
  • Which target groups should be addressed more strongly?
  • How can the market be better organized, advertised and adapted to changing requirements?

The dates:

  • Salzgitter-Lebenstedt: Wednesday, September 10, 2025, 17:00-20:00 in the Kulturscheune (Thiestraße 22, 38226 Salzgitter)
  • Salzgitter-Bad: Thursday, September 11, 2025, 17:00-20:00 in the atrium of WIS (Windmühlenbergstraße 20, 38259 Salzgitter)

The results of the workshops will be incorporated into the further concept work and will be discussed in more detail in a second workshop at the beginning of October.

Ongoing survey:

Parallel to the workshops, a comprehensive survey of market visitors will take place until September 25, 2025. Participation is possible online here. Paper questionnaires will also be available in the city libraries. Further information on the project and the dates can also be found on the website.
