First City Councillor Eric Neiseke welcomed the young guests: "Our city administration has a lot to offer: In addition to traditional administrative activities, there are also technical, socio-educational professions and career opportunities with many degrees. Today is your taster day at our town hall. You can look forward to finding out about a wide range of professions that we would like to introduce to you. Your Zukunftstag is a great opportunity to gain an insight into professions that you may not even know yet. We are delighted that you are here."
A total of 19 girls and 21 boys aged between ten and 17 took part in Zukunftstag. As part of a varied program, they were able to get to know various specialist services of the administration and municipal companies. From setting up a speed camera and making a film to surveying work, the organization team came up with a number of ideas.
Zukunftstag is intended to give girls and boys the opportunity to get a taste of professions that are atypical for their gender and to focus more on their own talents when choosing a career later on.
