Child day care action day:
On May 6, 2026, the "Child day care in yellow" campaign day will take place in Lower Saxony. Childminders will be dressed in yellow with their children in public and set an example for this valuable professional form of care and education for children under the age of three.
Numerous events such as walks, picnics and public play and craft activities are organized across the country under the motto "Child day care - the sun rises here for the little ones". The symbol of the day, the sun, stands for the reliability and naturalness of child day care, which is just as constant as the shining of the sun.
The day of action is intended to show in a variety of ways how important child day care is for the early childhood education of children and just as important for the compatibility of work and family.
This day of action is initiated by the "Lower Saxony Child Day Care Office" and is actively supported locally by specialist advisors for child day care. It takes place within the Germany-wide campaign week "Gut betreut in Kindertagespflege", which is organized by the "Bundesverband für Kindertagespflege" and takes place from 6 to 10 May 2026.
