Service portal action day: Information on digital services in the town hall

On Thursday, March 12, from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. in the atrium of the town hall in Salzgitter-Lebenstedt, the City of Salzgitter's Digital and IT Department will be providing information about the city administration's digital services, available online services and BundID.

Around 120 administrative services are currently available to citizens online via the city of Salzgitter's service portal - from "A" for applying for a waste paper garbage can to "M" for registration certificate and "W" for residence registration.

"In the past three years, we have doubled the number of services in the service portal. The service has been well received. Nevertheless, many citizens shy away from services that require a BundID. On the day of action, we would like to provide information and advice and dispel existing uncertainties," explains Jan Erik Bohling, the responsible department head of the city of Salzgitter.

The so-called BundID and an ID card with online function are required for some city administration services. These include motor vehicle services such as new registration or re-registration, electronic residence registration, registration certificates, building services and, in future, applications for parental allowance.

The BundID is a central digital user account for secure communication with authorities. A user account can be easily activated on site during the campaign day.

The service portal is available around the clock at service.salzgitter.de.
