Amphibian protection fences have been erected along the sections marked with #. Collectors are on the move in these sections. Special consideration is requested.
A particularly long section along the district roads 54, 1 and 2 in the Oelbertal valley may be temporarily closed to traffic at night between Lichtenberg (from the Burgberg parking lot) or Osterlinde (from the forester's lodge) and Oelber am weißen Wege on mild nights until the end of April.
Due to weather conditions, the road will be closed between 7 p.m. and 6 a.m. during the winter period (up to and including March 29) and from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. at the start of the summer period.
The closure will be signposted in good time at the entrances to the town.
Road users are asked for their understanding for this urgently required protective measure.
Please note: When hundreds of amphibians are migrating in these areas at the same time, it is inevitable that numerous animals will be run over. This can pose a considerable danger to road users, who may skid if they run over the animals.
Careful driving can therefore save the lives of many animals and prevent many accidents.
