In her works, she explores the questions: "What is really important in life? What experiences shape us, what questions accompany us through our time?"
The artist's works revolve around these fundamental themes of our own existence. Starting with the big questions of life - from birth, consciousness and the soul to the inevitable finiteness - the artist explores human existence. Her works reflect the tensions between truthfulness and transience, between the lived moment and the sense of limited existence. This results in pictures that are more than mere depictions: they create moods, open up mental spaces and tell stories. They reflect experiences, emotions and questions that not only move the artist, but can also touch the viewer.
Supporting program of the exhibition
Two workshops for children
There are two workshops for children as part of the exhibition program. Once on Sunday, May 3 and then on Saturday, June 20, both from 11.30 am to 2.30 pm.
At the beginning of the workshop, the young participants will visit the exhibition and take a close look at the works of the artist and painter Beate Haupt. A special change of perspective is tried out, in which the children sit or lie down in front of the pictures to discover colors, shapes and small details from unusual angles.
After a short break, they then get creative themselves. They use finger paints to create their own and group pictures in large format. They can mix the colors themselves and apply them to the paper using different techniques and materials.
Two workshops for adults
Two workshops are also offered for adults. One on Saturday, May 23 and the other on Sunday, July 5, both from 11.30 am to 2.30 pm.
Participants will visit Beate Haupt's exhibition together and approach the works in dialog. Based on the exhibition title "The things of life", the question will be explored: Which things accompany, shape or touch our own lives and how can they be found in forms, colors and structures? This question accompanies the participants in a joint discussion in the exhibition space and invites them to contribute their own perceptions, memories and associations.
The participants then get creative themselves. They create their own paintings on different formats on canvas and paper. The colors can be mixed freely and applied experimentally with different tools and materials. The focus is on experimentation, personal expression and the joy of the artistic process.
Guided tours through the exhibition
The guided tours through the exhibition focus on the big questions of life, which Beate Haupt deals with personally and artistically in her works. Based on her works, a historical and contemporary view of art is taken and the participants undertake a short excursion into art history.
