The two musicians, Marius Staible and Daniel Roth, are among the most exciting artists on the young European accordion scene and have been honored with, among other awards, first prize at the “Val Tidone” chamber music competition, the “Franz Liszt Prize,” and, most recently, the “John Cage Award” in 2025.
With passion, precision, and boundless curiosity, the duo continually pushes the boundaries of their instrument’s sound. Their repertoire combines works by Vivaldi and J. S. Bach with music by Astor Piazzolla, Sergei Rachmaninoff, John Cage, Steve Reich, and their own compositions.
Technical brilliance meets subtle humor, a willingness to take risks, and an intense musical dialogue.
A special musical premiere in Salzgitter. After all, the accordion is the Instrument of the Year for 2026. This musical globetrotter is being honored accordingly.
