The Climate Thaler is a simple and effective idea to motivate all participants to save CO2 through their own behavior. The city of Salzgitter has been successfully participating in the nationwide pilot project Climate Taler for around six months. Around 800 citizens have simply downloaded the app without registering and are collecting Taler.

Anyone who travels on foot, by bike or by public transport receives Climate Taler, which can be used to redeem rewards at all participating stores or institutions in all participating municipalities.

There are also climate tokens for low electricity or water consumption.

In Salzgitter, the Taler can be redeemed at the Stadtbad, Thermalsolbad, the ice rink, the Johanna Denecke glasses store, the book flea markets at the city library and the Salzgitter tourist information office.

The special feature: The tokens can be used in all participating cities. Braunschweig, Wolfenbüttel, Gifhorn, Braunlage and over 50 other towns are also taking part.

Simply do something good: The Climate Taler as a thank you is a visible sign of your own exemplary behavior.

"Doing more together for climate protection": under this motto, the climate protection team is looking forward to more participants. Citizens are just as welcome as retailers, restaurants, service providers and cultural institutions.
