The new Youth Parliament will begin its work on May 28, 2026 at its constituent meeting. It consists of 25 youth parliamentarians and three assessors.

By the end of the application period, the City of Salzgitter's Children, Youth and Family Department had received 25 applications for youth parliamentarians, which meant that this election was no longer necessary. The 25 applicants were appointed directly to the committee. This is provided for in the Youth Parliament's election and rules of procedure.

By the end of the application period, six applications had been received for the three seats of the assessors, meaning that there were more applications than seats. As a result, the election was held online for the first time since 2014 and worked flawlessly.

This means that all 28 places in the new youth parliament in Salzgitter have now been filled.

The constituent meeting of the 7th Salzgitter Youth Parliament will take place on Thursday, May 28, at 6 pm in the council chamber of Lebenstedt town hall (Joachim-Campe-Straße 6-8). The agenda includes the appointment of the new youth parliamentarians and assessors as well as the farewell to the members of the sixth term. Until the constituent meeting, the youth parliament members of the 6th electoral term will remain in office.
