Sportmeisterehrung 2026

"Do good and talk about it" is the motto of the traditional annual award ceremony held by the city of Salzgitter for its sports champions. This time it took place in the usual festive setting in the large hall of the Hotel am See.

A total of ten state championships, two North German championships, 15 second or third places in German championships and eight German championships were won by Salzgitter's athletes in twelve sports in the past calendar year.

The 39 children and young people were presented with certificates and digital skipping ropes as well as vouchers for the ice rink, Thermalsolbad and Stadtbad Lebenstedt by Mayor Frank Klingebiel and Nicole Mölling, Director of Volksbank BRAWO eG in Salzgitter, in recognition of their outstanding sporting successes.

The 68 adults received medals and certificates.

Mayor Frank Klingebiel also presented awards to particularly deserving volunteers. They received the silver or gold plaque for many years of voluntary work. Ernst-Henning Kracke from STV Ringelheim received the letter of honor, the highest award from the city of Salzgitter.
